Hi i did a search to try and answer my question but couldn't find anything that would help. I recently sold my CR125 (2001 model) and i plan on buying a CR250 (2006 model). I cant decide between a 4 stroke or a 2 stroke. i here alot more people are buying the 4 strokes so maybe i should go for one of them? what do you guys think for competitive racing? is the any down sides to 2 or 4 strokes? i have only had 2 strokes in the past so i dont know alot about the 4 strokes if they are better or worse for racing etc please help :whoa:

P.S sorry if this has been asked before but my search brought up nothing to help decide what i would get the most out of.

Well, if you want to race in the 125 class, go with a 250 fourstroke. You'll be more competitive on one over a 125. If you're in the 250 class, i would say it's more up to you.

I would say it doesn't really matter. Unless you're riding A class locally, it's really more rider skill than anything.

There are quite a few guys around here kicking butt on 125s. One actually races a 125 in the 12-15 mod class. The only modding his bike has is a pipe and silencer.

Most people will say 4-stroke, but just like ComradeMikhail and MXGirl230 said, you can still kick butt on a 2-stroke. So, basically it's whichever u feel more comfortable on.
