so i picked up a 06 rmz 450 love the bike but im new to this whole four stroke thing any pointers on how to make this bike survive. like what oil, and like a maintencee schedule

buy a service manual and follow the service intervals

GET YOUR VALVES ADJUSTED!!! This drives every 4 stroke rider nuts but it is a must! I would suggest trying to learn how to do it on your own cause it is expensive to have it dont all the time. Or even once for that matter.
