New Chain

When you get a new chain, does it have to be the same number of links as the stock chain. Mine has 114L, do I have to get another 114 link chain or does it matter?

You can get a longer one but you will have to remove te links you don't need.

I usually just tell my parts guy at midwestmoto.com that I need a chain for my 01/05 YZ250 and he gives me what I need. Haven't had to cut a link in years. I've done it, but the more links in the chain, the more $$.
