This is great! I was wondering when there was going to be a Trials forum. It's about time! Lets make this forum rock, no pun intended there.

Proper body positioning and a smooth application of the controls should make it possible to get through clean.;)

Really, I think I would enjoy this as a spectator, I could never make it as a participant. Some times it's all I can do to get the bike on the trailor, that's with both feet on the ground and a ramp:)

why not an fmx forum.
I know lots of people here don't like fmx but I also know that there are a few members of this board that make there living doing fmx.
I like fmx and I like to learn about but all other fmx sites are so loose with no rules that all it is ,is people bashing each other and swearing.
I know that there is lots of growing intrest in this part of the sport.
I like the idea of a trials forum but I think there should be a clean fmx forum too.anybody agree?
also what do people do to be moderators around here?I don't need to know because I want to be one I just was wondering what they have to do .Is there like a hell week after 9weeks of bootcamp?

Yep, nothing better then spending an hour in the garage doing figure 8's when its pouring rain outside. What I can't figure out is why I sweat so much doing it:silly:

I'm looking forward to this new forum. As a newbie trials guy maybe I can learn something. I bought a bike this fall, but there is no trials activity in my area, so I'm "breaking new ground", and can use all the support I can get.

For any that have never tried these bikes, you are missing out on a lot of fun and a great skills development tool. In the short time I have ridden the bike, I already noticed an improvement in my riding on my CR. Like Patman said, throttle control, and body positioning is soooo critical.

...and Lemming is right, I have never had so much fun in my driveway...well not since High School, but that's another story :p

Missouri trials riders?

:) I'm excited! Glade to see this new forum here, I don't currently ride trials but it has grabbed my attention lately. I'm planning on making a trip to the Trials Training Center in TN this spring or summer to give it a try. Are there any trials riders here at DRN from Missouri with suggestions on how to check out the sport locally?

'Trialswench' seems to hang out out Woodsracer, and moderates a cross training trials forum.

All of the posts that I've seen on other sites seem to really give the Trials Training Centre extremely good reviews. If only I could guess the correct numbers for the lottery!

Excellent! I just clicked over here from the Trials forum at WRC. I have been giving some thought to getting involved in this sport, it looks like alot of fun! Another plus is I don't have as far to fall if I lowside a trials bike, not that I ever fall down or anything.

I bought my trials bike from Laura (aka Trialswench) and have had the chance to ride at TTC 2 or 3 times. The place is fantastic for riding a trials bikes (can you say rocks, BIG ROCKS). I have not yet gone up for a weekend lesson but plan to possibly this spring. If there are others on this board that are interested, we could pick a convenient weekend and book an all DRNer lesson weekend.

I would like to get there this summer (TTC) I have to see where our vacation plans take us. Wife wants to go see mom and sister in SW Pa. and my dad wants to try to drown or splatter me on the ground again in Tn. & NC so it may pan out.

Anybody that thinks falling of a trials bike is not as bad as a long travel bike isn't riding the trials bike in the right place ;) Big rocks = big booboo's and as luck would have it this part of Texas has big rocks and cliffs in abundance

Well I have good news! My dad and I are getting a trials bike! We are selling an offshore radar and useing the money from that to pay for the trials bike. As soon as we get the radar sold... Ahhh trials :)

We don't have many areas around here where there are alot of big rocks, just lots of logs, roots and all that typical Northeastern stuff, we do have some cools waterfalls that I've seen some trials riders climbing though. :think

LWilson, WARNING...very addictive :p

Dennis, the best part about trials is that you can do it almost anywhere. No rock?, logs will more than suffice, as will roots, steep banks, ditches, etc. "Nice" dirt riding is about an hour drive for me, but I can ride trials in my yard.

Well I already know trials is addicting, Gary Jackson here in Houston got me even more hooked then I already was. My dad used to ride me around the back yard on his 1976 Montesa Cota 247 and thats when I got hooked on dirt bikes. Our collection is growing, 1998 XR400R (dad's) 1998 KX250 (mine) 1981 XR250 (go kart engine) 1987 Yamaha Razz (scooter) and my dads pride and joy, a 1982 Husqvarna 430CR. And now we are getting trials bike!
