New guy here

I just picked up an ‘03 CR85 for my 11 year old. It’s our first bike and hopefully there are more to come. This seems to be the most active site and forums. Thanks for having me!

Has he ridden before? The CR85 is a great choice but can be a handful for a beginner. Please get good safety gear (Boots, goggles, chest protector and helmet). Make sure the helmet is snug. Some parents buy too large because a kid grows so fast but a poor hitting helmet is dangerous. So are used helmets.

Street bike riders buy safety gear IN CASE they crash. Dirt bike riders buy safety gear for WHEN they crash.

Thanks for the tips, he has never ridden before. He seems pretty excited about it so I believe that if I find a good open space for him to learn he should pick it up fast. He won’t find out until Christmas, lol.

Gear is the rest of his Christmas. Along with tires, fluids, and other maintenance tools.
