I wondering if anyone could tell me what sort of oil to use when I am doing an oil change, and how much of it should I use.

Welcome to the site Der.

Check out the CR forum and I sure someone can give you the info you need.

I generally run 10/40 in my gearcase, but I don't own a CR.

the 95 cr250 has a fill plug on the side that you remove when filling with oil just take the bolt out, fill threw the cap on top untill oil comes out the hole then reinstall the bolt..it takes about 9/10 of a quart (i think it has a 10mm head and should have a brass washer under make sure not to remove the one on the water pump unless your changing the coolant) use any motorcycle oil thats is for use in wet clutch transmissions i like the honda hp trans oil you can get it at the dealer or something like "bel-ray gear saver" but 10 40w will work just dont use synthetic or oils with friction modifiers some oils can be too slipery and make the clutch slip when under a heavy load so dont use any additives with teflon or other slippery additives like moly ect
