Hi there, folks... I'm looking into buying a new bike and have been out of the loop for a couple of years now, as well as having not renewed any of my magazine subscriptions! With that said, I'm just looking around to see what bikes people are liking now-a-days... So I figured I'd register here! I've owned quite a few, but my definite favorite has been my Gas Gas 250. I'm looking for something new along those lines, but perhaps just a little more supercross oriented. I stopped riding because I seized the gas gas and when I got it fixed, got some sort of carb/fuel flow problem that I couldn't figure out for the life of me (changed the float levels and did all types of stupid stuff and just couldn't get it to run properly) but around that time I was looking at maybe a yz250f or something like that. Any suggestions?

p.s. Sorry for rambling, haha... Just excited to be back, I suppose!

Do you still have the GasGas or do you need to get a need bike? You can't go wrong with a YZ250F.

Welcome to the site

Be sure and go to your User CP and update information relating to your location, type of riding, etc. After that grab a spot on the couch and tell us a bit about yourself. How long you have been riding, what kind of riding you prefer, where you are located, etc. We will do our best to hook you up with some fellow dirt bike enthusiasts.

Check out the What Bike Do I Get... ? forum for great information on what dirtbikes might suit your needs and desires. There is a great group of folks that hang out in there always willing to help.

Watch the Damn Yankee Dirt Riders forum for information on an upcoming spring ride at Paragon Adventure Park.

Again, welcome to the site and shout if you have any questions!

captain- I still have the Gas Gas, but it's still a bit under the weather :( Would need to put a lot of TLC into it to bring it back it it's prior 'vigor', if you will. That's why I was thinking about selling it to somebody with the time to do it and going for a new bike. I like the idea of having something that's a little bit more accessible as far as parts and dealerships, but I want something with the potential of the gas gas.

Tony- Thanks for the nice response! I updated my profile so as to be a bit more informative, but I'll go ahead and tell you a bit more about myself anyway. I'm from NW Jersey/E. Stroudsburg PA area. My father got me started on riding when I was about 4 and it's been my #1 love ever since- although for the last few years I've had to step away a bit. Aside from the riding side of me, I work for an investment firm called 'The Magnet Investment Group'. We put out a monthly newsletter through Forbes, run several hedge/mutual funds, do a lot of media (fox, abc, conferences, etc.), as well as managing money for individuals. If any of you are into investing, let's talk!

Anyhow, I suppose that's it for now... I'm sure you'll see me loungin' around these parts.

you have got a few of us here from North Jersey. It doesnt sound like you are interested in another gasgas, but a friend of mine has an 01 gasgas 300 for sale. Its been sitting for about 3 years and he's looking to sell it. I know its not a motocross bike, but thought I would mention it.
Welcome aboard, and hopefully we will see you on the trails soon.
