I had a 2001 XR400 and it was a great woods bike. A 125 would not be ideal with your size. The 250 likes to go fast so it is not as good of a trail bike as the XR. I now have a Kx250 and it takes more experience to ride the trails. The XR is also bullet proof, change the oil and ride. I would suggest the XR as a good starter bike for the trails and woods.

The DRZ400 is a decent bike that will work well for you.

The YZs are great bikes. Price seems about right for 10 year old mx bike in my area, maybe a bit less if it's not really clean.

That sounds about right. My friend has a 04 YZ250 and it is a good bike, it may be a bit more than you would want to start out with in the woods and on trails though.
