Makes sense to me. I rode other peoples bikes since kindergarden but never actually had one of my own untill the fifth grade. I have a seven year old boy, a eight year old boy, and a twelve year old girl. My daughter convinced me she wanted to race so I sold her XR70 and bought her a 2004 CR85R. I have had it since Januaury and it has about an hour and half on it. I really cant say much because I know I have less than six hours on mine. If anyone is from Oklahoma and wants to ride let me know. Everytime I try to take my family somebody has something they have to do. :(High Lord Gomer said:I found with one of my kids, getting a bike for him too early meant that he never had to "want" one. He was never really interested, which is a shame since he is the best rider in the family.

I still couldn't wait with the youngest one, though. I told him he couldn't get one until he could ride his bicycle without training wheels. At 4 1/2 he rode the bicycle and the next week I had him on an XR50. He's still pretty interested (7, now) but not as rabid as the 20 year old who had to beg for a couple years.
