"No KTM 525MXC's until 2004!?!"

Just when I thought that an exhorbitant price tag and a poor economy would help, I saundered into my local KTM dealership to purchase a 2003 525MXC and was told, "Sorry, we're sold out through this year. However, if you want to put your name on the waiting list for the 2004's. . .". I couldn't believe it. It's only mid-February and they are already sold out!

What I am asking of my fellow DRN bretheren (preferably in California or Nevada) is this: Please check out the local KTM dealers in your area for availability of this motorcycle. I live in the North, San Francisco Bay Area, but I am willing to drive as far as San Diego to personally pick one up. Your help in locating one is greatly appreciated.

I finally made it to the top of that massive verticle climb (gaining the permission of my wife) when I got stopped dead in my tracks! As you can well understand, I have to strike while the iron is hot and before she has a chance to renege!

Thanks in advance for your help in this matter.

Call North County Yamaha-KTM in Escondido. They have them on the floor. If you ask for Phil let him know Jeff sent you over and to give you the package deal. I race for them and Phil can hook you up with some throw ins like skid plates, graphics, bark busters, etc. but you gotta ask.

They are located in North San Diego. 760-432-9501

Thanks guys, so far I have received a response from Malcolm Smith and they have three on the floor as of this morning. Unit74, I most certainly like the idea of freebies. I will give North County Yamaha-KTM a call and see what develops. Thanks for everyone's input.

You can find, what may be your best deal, on a KTM through get-quote. KTM talk dot com has a system to allow you to shop MANY dealers buy the click of your mouse. The bike can be delivered right to your door. You can also try a dealer here, saveoncylces dot com.

I have a buddy, who lives in both Reno, and Rocklin CA, who is selling an '02 520exc, with $500 of suspension work and many extras for $6000. You would probably be able to get it for less than that. The bike probably has 500 miles on it and never raced. Just a thought!
