I have a 2002 220 and recently disconnected the front and rear lights to install MX-style plastic. I hooked up a HOBBS hour meter, and it did not work. I tested the wires coming out of the stator and discovered that there is only 0.5 volt coming from the low voltage side that powers the lights (the other side registers 30 volts). Any suggestions on how to fix this. Do I have to replace the entirer stator? I can't find anything in the archives.
But does everything work still? (hi/lo beam, etc)
If you weren't experiencing any failures then the problem lies in your testing methods or what you thought you'd find as far as voltage.
Nothing works. I had an electrician check the voltage at the stator leads but we did not have a flywheel holder needed to remove the flywheel. Therefore we never got to the stator. Anyway 0.5 volts is practically useless.
Yes my 91 model is ac current. Drove me bloody made for awhileAll I got was 3v dc.
Done a search and found out it was ac current.
Just love the search button info galore.
