I live in OC and wanted to take an inventory of whats legal and close. Any input on the following spots would be a great help.
1)Bomont
2)Hesperia (Honda valley ribcage)
3)Silverwood Lake area
4)Cleighhorn
5)I-15 south - exits like Glen Ivey,Lake Street, Central Ave, Bundy and Railroad Canyon. Any spots still open here?
5.5)Wildomar
6)Arrowhead/BigBear
7)El MIrage
8)JOhnson Valley/LaCern
9) Whitewater (Palm Springs)
10)Gorman
Any other spots local to those who live in OC, Riverside, and San Bernadino?
Thanks, Chris

Darm there are allot of closed spots. I drive out to Palm Springs allot and always see people riding Bomont and parking in plain view. What is up with that? Same with Whitewater.

As for spots down the 15 fwy, there used to be allot of cool spots there but with all the home building and popularity of riding they are high cracking down. I guess its down to open desert, mountians, and the tracks, otherwise drive 4 hrs to far away spots.

Chris.

Although many areas are closed, people still ride there. The ROVE cops move around from area to area and you never know where they will be on a particular weekend.

It is important that we stay out of the areas that are posted as sensitive species areas. Cutting fences and going into these areas works against us.

Being polite to hikers and horseback riders and staying far away from homes goes a long way in our favor. Having a quiet bike is very important. If they couldn't hear us, they wouldn't even know we were there.

It is up to all of us that want to continue to ride to become involved with keeping areas open and opening up new areas. It can be done and we have the numbers to do it. We just need to be more organized. If you don't already belong to a group that is fighting to keep the riding areas open, please join one.

Also, attending County planning and Supervisor meetings works in our favor. Believe it or not, the tide is turning. Here in Riverside County we have shown them just how big and influential our group really is. Now, they want to work with us instead of just outlawing us. They now realize how much taxible income the County would lose if we all packed up and moved away.

It's all about $$$ and sense.

I'll get off my soapbox now.
