Oil burnin thumper

Well heres the story My friend bought a 92 xr z 250 it has 2 carbs and xr500 heads. i think its bord out. and it burns oil...... like every once and a while it will shoot out a blast of blue smoke like my 2 stroke.... it had an oil fouled plug...and we changed it.... i am wondering what we could do to fix it

From my car experience smoke during acceleration is valve seals and during deceleration is the rings.Cars and thumpers are both four strokes. JMHO

my old xr200 smoked and burn oil, the valves and cam were shot letting oil seep in.

It's either the rings or the valve seals. It sounds like a rebuild is in store.

:think: Care to expand with a little technical information on how the cam caused oil burning?

cause for a 13 and 16 year old we probly can do right in his garage with some outside help

The valves and camshaft assemblys were shot(and all parts associated, Ie seal etc.)
