Oil leak in bottom end?

Hi, I have a 97 cr250 and I noticed it was leaking tranny oil. It seems to be coming out of a little hole in front of the drain plug. I have a shop manual but it doesnt' say anything about it except to check for leaks after you split the cases: It is leaking quite bad and i have no clue what to do about it. :bang: Does this mean i have to spit the cases? Any help would be great!!

Does anybody know what the little hole is for?(besides to make me ask questions)lol. It is not a hole from a rock or anything it is put there by honda for some reason.

where at on the engine is it? high up or on the lower part of the case. you didn't put to much oil in it did you. it my be some kind of over flow. that's just a guess i have no clue but you could look into that especially if the case hasn't ever been split, good luck

The hole is about 3 in towards the front of the bike from the drain plug. I dont' think i had to much oil but.... i might have put to much in.
