Well since most of your players were born in Texas, I guess OU's national championships are born here!

I'm starting to think that Mack Brown is going to be the next Dan Reeves. Good coach, good motivator, helluva recruiter (in Mack's case), but he just can't win the big ones. Sure, he beat Texas Tech and Houston, but if you can't be OU and A&M, then it doesn't matter

Another thing, if Texas wouldn't schedule pansy opponents for the first couple of weeks leading up to OU, stuff like this might not happen. The offense hasn't seen a defense like that since OU last year, but at least if they had played somebody like K-State, they'd be more prepared. :silly:

And finally, yall have got to give props to the Texas Defense. They played a helluva game. Especially the linebackers, I was very impressed. Derrick Johnson and D.D. Lewis were everywhere. The only thing they didn't do was force turnovers, which was a difference maker in this game.

Texas Sucks!

Four Footbal fans go rock climbing one afternoon: A Nebraska Cornhuskers
fan, a Kansas State Wildcats fan, a Texas Longhorns fan, and an OU
Sooners fan. They had been arguing all the way up the mountain about who amoung
them was the most "die-hard" fan. Upon reaching the top of the mountain,
the Cornhusker fan proclaimed to the other three, "This is for the
Nebraska Cornhuskers!" and promptly threw himself off the mountain as a
form of sacrifice.

Not to be outdone by a Nebraska fan, the Kansas State fan stepped up and
said, "This is for the Kansas State Wildcats!" and then threw himself
off the mountain, also as a form of sacrifice.

Refusing to be outdone by the Cornhuskers and Wildcats fans, the Sooner
fan rose to his feet and yelled to the heavens at the top of his lungs,
"This is for the Oklahoma Sooners!!" and, without any hesitation, pushed
the Texas fan off the mountain.

Go Sooners, Beat Texas!!!

Texas sucks? Think about what a crappy team yall would have if you only recruited in state. Think about how awesome Texas would be if we got all of our best high school players. Check the rosters. Let me break it down for you.

OU - 40 players from Texas and 18 from other states for a 119 man roster.
UT - 2 players from Oklahoma and 14 from other states for a 118 man roster.

Also half of OU's starters are from Texas, while UT's starters are all from Texas with the exception of 2 (Bo Scaife and Simms or Applewhite).

So the next time you think about Texas sucking you just remember where half the talent (and half the offense, yes Quentin Griffin is from Texas) of that National Championship came from.

The 2 Okies on UT are rotating Defensive Tackles I think. How bout we trade for Dvorachek and the one guy #97 who are from Texas?

Hey know Okie, I don't think so. A good friend of mine is on a full ride to Nebraska after getting offers from all Big-12 schools. Besides there really aren't many Texans on Nebraska. I'd say the Texans that can't make OU, end-up at K-State!

Settle YZ. Step back and look at what you are saying. No one cares where the players are FROM it's where they ARE and where they WIN. Plenty of Okies have played for Texas and vice versa. When we say Texas Sucks (and they do) its not the state its the school. Your argument is weak!

I know you guys won a national championship recently its just that we have one four since then!!!! :scream: You haven't finished in the top 10 in 18 years and your best quarterback is on the bench. Also our Roy Williams dominated your boys all day long, did you see Mr. Heisman's face the last few minutes of the game?

Don't be too sore about losing this rivalry is gonna go back and forth for a long time.

Oh yeah, if you look at a map We Are Always on TOP!

I was merely pointing that out because most people fail to notice it.

Mr. Heisman? I can't believe people were predicting him to win the Heisman trophy. That just seems ludacris. He doesn't have hardly any real experience, and has yet to beat a top ten team (right?). The only big game he has won was beating A&M last year, but they were just a bunch of pansies anyways.:silly: If anybody on that field that day deserved to win the Heisman, it was Rocky Calmus. That guy is the all-around best player in college football, no doubt in my mind. Not only is our best quarterback on the bench, but I think the best running back is on the bench too. Cedric Benson has showed more promise and talent than Ivan or Ike. I think the thing with National Championships just has to do with the right coach, with the right system coming along at the right time. Do you think Switzer would win so much nowadays? Stoops is just a better coach. Mack just can't cut it, which disappoints me.

Oh yea, that's a real cute there at the bottom :silly:

Smitty look what you just posted?

Obviously OU cares or they wouldn't spend so much time and money recruiting in Texas.
Everyone knows where all the colleges go to recruit: Texas and Florida, it's been that way for decades. Even Switzer said he never could have won without the kids from Texas.
Oh, and let's not get into comparing Texas and OU academically because the score would be drastically lop-sided.

I stand corrected. Out of all the top 300 Universities Texas ranks #51, A&M 49. O U isn't even on the chart, but OSU is like 150th.
Princeton was #1, and I'm speaking only academically, we know who has the most texans on thier team, oops I mean better football team!! LOL
Too bad we didn't get the OU coach, we could have. He (Mack Brown) is a great recruiter but not coach. If he can't beat OU and A&M he won't be around long. I really am happy to see OU doing well.

Heh, what a rivalry huh? What I meant by the "where they are FROM" was that once they are here it doesn't matter if they are from Texas, Florida, or Jupiter they are SOONERS then and forever. As far as Simms, I'm just ribbin' you guys, I know alot of Texas fans wish Applesauce was still in there. I know as a Sooner I would much rather see Simms than Major, due to his attitude and leadership.

Regarding academics, who cares we are talking football! If you have to bring up academics for pride in the Red River Shootout then you really are hurting for ammo.

Too bad we don't put more of a priority on academics, it might just make us all a little better?
