It has to cost a fortune. The 6 days of the Nevada 2000 cost our team $20,000 +, not including the $40,000 medical bills and medivac flight for one of our riders. I can not imagine the cost of a 12+ day ralley through Africa. And the logistics...It was tough to get everything moved in Nevada, but Africa. If anyone ever does decide to do it, I'll be the first to pay my own way, and volenteer to pit them.
It's like a drug. I gotta watch every night! That's gotta be the ultimate trail ride, but I don't know how they can ride and drive like that for days on end. And the dunes! They seem to go on forever!
Speaking of addictive stuff on Speedvision, how many of you were staying up 'til all hours watching the Barrett-Jackson auto auction? What some beautiful machines! If my wife would only let me spend that extra $200K we have laying around!
