I think Okie told me once that I was member 136. Does that count as an old timer?? Of course, I have never left DRN...but I sure have seen alot of changes.

Since everyone else (other than those that have had the chance to experience your wierdness first-hand) is probably wondering...

This is the 12th anniversary of the day when Ivan was first allowed to come out from under the front porch (where he lived for the first 15 years of his life). Every so often he opens his eyes and realizes, "Wow! It is a big world out there!" Sometimes he lapses into his Steve Martin voice and says, "If this is out there, think how much more is out there!"
At times like these, we usually pat him on the head, make sure his medication hasn't run out, and then steal his bike!

So are you talking about people that remember when Shaltac moderated the Flame board? Or the first time the vintage forum came and went? Or what when we all got called old school tightie wearin' sumthin' or others?

This thread reminds me, what ever happened to yellowphart? Does anyone besides me even remember him?

So, you are saying I have a screw loose?
No, just that we now know where all those "extras" were supposed to go. :p

Geez, remember when those "X-Bobber" guys showed up? what a bunch of loons they were! what ever became of them :think

Yes, this was / and still is a fun place on the web. It was almost possible to know everyone on the site back then too. Now it's REALLY hard to keep up with all the new members.

YellowPhart aka Uwe Hale is a great guy. I rode with him at the '98 Texas Spodefest.
From the Flying-P Ranch...

DirtCrashr (Keith H) is still an RMD regular. I got to meet him at the Colorado Spodefest in 99. He's a really nice (and smart) guy, even if he is quieter in person.

We went out for a full week and did several tourist type things. Troy maxel and family cae out shortly behind us and stayed a few doors down in the hotel. It was a great time. I wish I had pictures of our makeshift garage we setup in the hotel parking lot.

I got to spend some time with Merf, too. Definitely the high point of going out there.

Hey Mike, whatever happened to Troy? I haven't heard from him in ages!

I switched ISPs and have no newsgroup access, so no more RMD for me. :(

Dirtcrasher

The next time you guys talk to Keith, refer to him as "Professor House Wrecker".
Approx 6-8 years ago Keith & I, as well as about 20 others, rode street bikes together. One Sunday a large group of us went to visit a friend in Santa Cruz and, well, to make the story short it was a house warming & Keith hit the guys house with, I think, an XR 650L, but it was one of his first ever rides on a dirt bike.

Just talked to KCGroundhog on the phone the other day. He's still around, but doesn't post much anywhere. He's coming out here in March for a weeks worth of riding.

I think I joined when there was around 300 members, but I'm not sure. Yeah, I remember the name Shaltac, and the tighty-wearing homo thing.
