Picture of cylinder wear on my '95 KDX

You guys have probably seen more KDX cylinders than my
local "street bike" Kawasaki dealer. What do you think of
these marks on my cylinder walls? These marks appear to
very minor. What do you think? 1995 KDX, this is the third
piston wear marks that you're looking at.

verticle scores, and looks like rust. what is that gouge in it in one of the ports or something?

Looks like dirt or sand is getting into the intake system unfiltered. That is usually how you get vertical scratches like that. Does not seem to bad at all. Hone and go. Check Eric Gorrs webpage for info on honing out the cylinder there. Be sure you measure and fit the cylinder to the piston or just ship it to eric to hone the cylinder for you.

Forgot to add that you also need to check the carb holder and the airbox boot and the seal to the airbox. What I do is just remove the boot from the airbox, clean and apply tons of silicone to the box around the hole. Let it cure about 20 minutes then reinstall the boot. Cheap way to really seal that junction. Use the black silicone also
