pipe guard paint

Hello, anyone here who has made a fiberglass pipe guard or has a fredette, what's the best paint to repaint it with. and what temp??.i'm obviously not buying the right temp, because it just keeps melting, and what type of black, flat or semi gloss, i havent used a flat and wouldnt know if it would look good or not.

What is the pipe guard made out of and what primer are you using?

I usually use hi temp engine enamel or similar

it is a fiberglass guard. i just painted it yesterday with some semi gloss BBQ paint that goes up to 1200 degrees. we'll give this a shot, thanks for the reply..
