Hey,

Im in the process of rebuilding the top end on my 1995 YZ125

Im unsure as what piston to order for my bike, im either going for OEM or a wiseco piston. I brought the bike second hand and the prevous owner told me that the cylinder had been resleved and I know that the cylinder head is from a 1994 model but the cylinder is a 1995. I know the oem pstons come colour classified and don't know which colour to order. Would the best bet be to measure the bore size and go from there? Is there a general rule like piston 10% smaller than bore or something???

Hellp greatly appreicated.

If you have a pair of calipers or have a friend you can borrow from, just measure up the jug to get the bore and there you go. Pistons are always labeled for the size of the bore. Not the piston. Hope this helps.
