Need advise out there.
Just totally rebuit my E1 KDX and have come over a problem.
You know how it is,laying in bed trying to sleep thinking if you tightened that bolt did you do check this part etc etc.
The Jug has been sleeved with an LA Sleeve new Wisco Piston and Rings. The problem I am thinking about is the ring gap .I set the ring gap to factory manual spec (0.15-0.3mm)I am at the 0.15mm.
After the clean up I found the piston ring packet the wisco piston ring packed says min 0.012 thou (0.3mm).Should I run with the 0.15mm gap? What's the chances of ring but/bind?
I really don't want to pull it all down again.
Thanks Guys

Hey Dazza, guys like Sage and others will know for sure, but if it were me ,i would set the ring end gap to wiseco's spec's,i stand to be corrected but i think the wiseco's expand slightly more(being forged) than the stock piston(being cast)and maybe this is the reason for needing a little more end gap:silly:

.15mm =.006 thousands. Wisco and Eric Gorr both say the minimum should be .012. Sounds like your way off to me.

A piston's expansion (or not) is going to effect ring gap?

..don't think so.

Shoot...you can have those rings off in 20 minutes easy!

:)
