I have an '05 mini pit bike 50cc 2 stroke. It ran fine until one day it wouldn't run without the choke. could someone tell me how fix this problem. I've tried adjusting the screw for the carb but it didnt do anything.

Anyone have any ideas, thanks

Start it with the choke, rev it full and turn the choke of ... see how long it lasts until it cuts out, otherwise, just keep the choke on.

I tried putting the choke on then revving it, but when i take the choke off and give it gas it just runs for 2 seconds sputters and then stalls.

Would it hurt to keep the choke on when im riding it or will it ruin the engine?

Shouldn't do much, just drink fuel like an alcoholic drinks bear.

Can i ask whether this is a automatic, manual . semi auto?

Get a can of good quality carb cleaner and disassemble the carb and clean it well. That should fix the problem.

It's pretty self explainitory really. Just pay attention to what you are doing and where the pieces go as you pull it apart. Take digital pics if you feel the need. It's really a simple process.

The jetting didn't change by itself. Well I guess maybe it did but not because the physical jets changed.

You have dirt in the pilot jet circuit. You will have to turn the carb in the air boots to remove the float bowl (bottom of carb) In the carb there should be a brass jet exposed (main jet) the pilot is recessed in the carb. Look at the bottom and remove the brass piece inside that has the screw driver slot. Make sure you can see through the jet, stick some wire or something small enough to fit through the jet, or replace.
