Lots of options; I have not ridden at most of them. Check out yesterday's thread about a new southeastern off-road series; it lists several of the options. Durhamtown is suppose to be unbelievable; Speed Channel's Two Wheel Tuesday did a segment on it. They had a hare scrambles at Aiona (sp?) Pass this last weekend (in the rain) & some of my friends were talking about riding it; I haven't heard back. I have ridden at this place www.talkingrockarena.com; MX track, 2 different kids/beginner tracks, plus some trails that were too difficult in wet conditions for my then 10 y.o. daughter to ride much of them. You might check out www.gartra.com (Ga. rec.trail riders assoc.) for more info.
I have a couple of good friends with wooded property that I ride on, but they are somewhat selective about who they invite to ride, for reasons I hope you can understand. Check out www.sundaysocialclub.org to learn about one of these groups.
Good luck & keep in touch; when and how long will you be in Atl.? Take care, Ken :ride:
Thanks Ken. I am researching a possible relocation to the ATL. I'll be in Atlanta for the SX and some vacation but probably won't be getting in any riding on that trip. Thanks again for the info.
Head out to Bremen the day after the SX, there is a huge Charity event for AT there which will involve RC, TP, Ezra Lusk, Matt Walker, and several others, if i remember the list correctly. Also, they have an excellent MX track. More info can be found in their forums at http://www.bremenmx.com/forum. I think the info is in a sticky
The track is about an hour west of Atl, just off of I-20.
I have also heard great things about DurhamTown Plantation and was just looking at their website (http://durhamtown.com/index.htm) yesterday. Also, there is a new park planning to open in Polk county on Feb 4, they have had some legal battles over the last few months, but it's looking good. Info can be found at http://www.highlandparkresort.com/index.htm.
