I think the PN was targeted to the four strokes and works on them, I think the CO. just doesnt want to loose sales to the two stroke guys and is covering the board so to say.jmo.
Well, I have experimented with one on my PWK 39...I'd hate to say 'I've got one on', because like anything, it's just ongoing experimentation. I want to try a different fuel with it, before going back to stock and start over. At any rate, I can tell you one DEFINITE difference is it really, really makes my bike run pilot sensitive. 1/4 turn in warmer weather is the difference between instantaneous and so-so throttle response.
Can I quantify that? No. But I can tell you it's definitely different in that way from stock. It's also an effect I haven't seen referred to anywhere, although intuitive.
Lookee what I found! So there ya go, it's a perfect 10 boys! hehehehe
Q. Dear Mr. know it all. Hey I sent my question in over 4 months ago. i need to know soon because i am going to buy a pipe real soon. my bike is a 2002 yz250f and i want to know what pipe is best for my bike. i have heard that Dr.D is the best but i have also heard that fmf is real good. also what about this new product power now for Yamahas made by world power racing. And then what about a new air box from Dr.D that worth the money.

A. Pipes: Yes both are good. Dr.D is a little friendlier and the FMF a bit more more pure HP. Power Now, definitley worth the money. I have ridden it on the MX Racer's test bike and we all voted a perfect 10. Airbox is also good on the 02. The 03 box is light and doesn't need it as bad.
Problem is, the gain if any is hard to measure. So if it's all down to an added response ie "feel". Then it will always be an opinion and nothing more.
When I first got my bike,I went with the hype.
Noticed alittle difference but not much, only when I put the P-38 mod in did I notice a bigger difference then the PN mod.
After a couple of months running the PN it felt (to me) like it holds my bike back. I took it out and there was no loss anywhere at all.
It's in my kitchen cupboard collecting dust.
I have great response from zero to any throttle Opening,to WFO when on load
I wonder if the U-4 has anything to do with it
Man I love that smell :yeehaw:
Thanks Steve.
whyz--did the 'few months' get warmer by chance? :)
This thing MAGNIFIES jetting woes where rich conditions (weather warming, no jetting change) exist. If it's holding your bike back, you're definitely slipping on the A/F ratio.
That said, the only thing I'm convinced of is that it will not make your bike run worse. If it does, there's a problem.
It does not run worse and I've ran it with straight pump since late Feb.
around there.. I leaned it out alittle down low only. The clip and MJ stayed the same back then. I just noticed that the P-38 was (to me) a better performance gain then the PN mod, that's all, back then, and now.
I know what you mean about the warmer weather and rich jetting woes
when it comes to the PN mod.
I jet accordingly, At least I hope I do.
Maybe I am slipping on the A/F ratio.
But from back then and now my bike runs pretty darn tootin good as it sits.
It's hard to explain on what I meant about holding it back.. Sorry.
Like decomp is more with it on then not  dunno.
Okay,,I'm leaving now cause foot will be in mouth soon,, See ya.
Or maybe foot is already in :whiner:
