Sure! It's open to all DRN members, especially the women! This whole thing started 3 years ago (this will be the 4th annual ride) by Firecracker22 as a Ladies Valentines Day ride. "Screw Valentine's Day, Let's go ride!" said the then briefly single FC. ;) The location selected was Reno! The riding area is located just outside Sparks, NV at a place called Moonrocks. For more details pay attention to this thread in the Places to Ride Forum: THREAD And you can check you this photo album for pictures from the years past: RENO PICTURES This thing just keeps getting bigger and better every year. The ride spans the whole weekend, Friday, February 13th thru Sunday, the 15th with some early birds arriving on Thursday, February 12th. Most attendees stay in Reno in hotels with a majority at the Peppermill Hotel/Casino, www.peppermillreno.com better rates can sometimes be found via some of the discount hotel websites such as expedia.com, hotels.com or cheaprooms.com Last year was the first year anyone actually camped at the riding area and from what I hear it worked out well. I don’t think anyone was in a tent though. IMO, a trailer or RV is recommended if you want to “camp” at the riding area. If you’re going to stay in a hotel I recommend booking as soon as possible as that is a very popular weekend and rooms book up fast! The riding area is open desert and is loads of fun! DRN member Strick has played host to us in the past since he is a Reno resident. Sometimes he and some of the locals have marked off courses for ‘beginners’, ‘intermediate’, and ‘advanced’ riders and have been excellent guides. There will most likely be port-a-potties again this year but that will be the only “amenity” at the riding area. Recommend bringing a riding jacket, warm gloves and long underwear. The weather was beautiful last year but it has snowed some in the past.
