At first I took it for granted when I saw a dirt-bike article here or there on the pages of our biggest OC paper, the Orange County Register (daily readership over one million). Some time recently, though, I realized that the paper was giving a steady stream of dirt bike articles. Not just little ones, either. Full page or half page ones, with pictures. Today's was a big piece on Travis Pastrana. Yesterday's was on the growth of dirtbiking as a family sport. Been several on the reopening of Saddleback -- which, btw, can't hurt the park's efforts to obtain permanent permits.

So, with all the bad press we get, and especially the indifference, I thought I'd give a shout out for one paper that's really been giving us some good, fair coverage. I'll be sending them a letter-to-the-editor to thank them personally, as well.

Very cool! Do they have a website? Its nice to read articles by someone other than the regular mag hacks.

Longtime.

Our local Inland Empire newspaper, the Press Enterprise ran a three day series a few weeks ago about the popularity of the sport. They showed all of the factory practise track locations and also regular tracks. It was a great article, very positive. It was by Jim Short, in case anyone wants to send their cudos.

Looks like we are finally hitting the mainstream. It's about time.:D
