pulsing machine then dies

Hi fellas more hassles!!

Every now an again the kdx 200 - 88, would pulse on its own after a ride when on idle, it would clear after another easy ride.

Now its doing this badly, pulses but also it will hold high revs for a while and then die, all at idle.

When I ride it, it tries to do the same thing, even with the throttle on. It started losing power and then died, and I haven't been able to start it since??

Please help guys, it was such a reliable beast but now its breaking my balls.

Sounds a little like when you turn the idle air screw out too far and you gas it and it takes too long for the revs to die down.
Could be that you have an irregular air leak (intake boot or left crank seal most likely).

Insufficient fuel flow. My fuel petcock does not seal when turned off. WHen I was riding with it off one time, it would surge like that but not die. Check your fuel flow from the tank to the carb.

could be. when the fuel level gets low in the carb then its like the mixture is leaner which makes it rev faster. clean your carb out and check the float level
