Hi i was just wondering,

i removed the reed block from my pw80 but as i pulled the bottom rubber gasket away a small amount of dirt fell through into the engine,

what should i do? would spraying some brake or carb cleaner in be enough or should i dissasemble the engine and clean it all,
thanks,
Alex

At a minimum, you should pull the cylinder and flush the dirt out, unless you are willing to risk destroying the engine prematurely. It might be OK, but the dirt could definitely cause problems.

Pull it apart. Wash everything with hot soapy water, and the cases. Dump it out, suck it out with a vacuum, then douche it with wd-40. Wipe, dump or suck out the excess. While you are in there check the piston and ring gaps. Oh, and pray none got stuck behind the main bearings. As long as you did not turn the engine over, a good cleaning should work. Probably about time to open the engine up anyways, do not say it is new!
