Questions about 4-stroke rebuilds and general maintanance.

Hi, I currently am thinking about buying either a 250 or 450 4-stroke bike but i've got some questions about maintanance and rebuilds for 4-strokes. 1. How much does it generally cost to rebuild a 4 stroke bike and what parts are needed for the rebuild? 2. How much harder is it to do a rebuild on a 4-stroke? I've done one on a 2-stroke bike which was fairly simple. 3. How often do the valves need adjustment and how hard is it to adjust them. Thanks :)
