I just ordered boyseen reeds (online) yesterday and I'm not sure whether I was suppose to order a replacement reed valve gasket as well. I have a 02 200 with typical engine/suspension mods and about 15 hours on it. Appreciate your help~thanks, John

PS-I searched the archives for reed installation tips/advice and could not find any answers on whether a gasket was needed.

there is one on the reed case to engine seating. mine broke when i took the reedcase out but i had already got one from my dealer. so i would recommend getting one just incase... mine is a 97 model 200 that had stock reeds so i think being that age the gasket was seated pretty well.

thanks KAY DEE EXER...My gasket looked clean, dry, and intact--of course I haven't taken the reed cage out yet...but i figured it would too seated and worn and this point, but it never hurts to have back up...i really don't like starting a repair and not being able to finish it b/c i'm missing a part...I'll order it today...cheers..john
