NO do not use car oil in a wet clutch bike. the additives can cause your clutch to slip.

I've used auto oil in my bike transmissions for 35 years and the only time I've had slipping clutches is when the plates were worn out.

do not use gear oil for cars it will be way to thick . they must use a different numbering system then bike gear oil since 85 wt auto gear oil is thicker than 85 wt belray.if it doesn't do any damage it probably will make the gear box feel sluggish.

It is a different grade of oil. Thus both have the same weights, but different oil

Use only stuff designed for the bike trannys.

gear oil and engine oil are different. I wouldn't put gear oil in a bike but, like 2stroker said i've been running regular 10/40 motor oil in my bikes for a very long time and never had any problems with it...

yup rear end oil...it was just an idea...i just put 2 together....clutch saver is gear oil and the truck stuff is gear oil wonderd if they were any different

I've always used Bel Ray 80wt Gear Saver in my two strokes, I'm real clueless on these new 4-strokes. What's the equivalent quality oil for the 4-stroke of the Bel Ray 80wt Gear Saver or can I also use it in the four stroke? (07 KX450f here).

They are very different. Hypoid gear oil is not what you want in your motorcycle gearbox.
