I need to fine tune my rear shock-(stock)
KDX 250, rider, 6-3 210lbs
How soft/hard & how far down do u recomend compressing/threading the spring.
Set up for Light MX-Trail
Need stiffness without the "wheel hop" on small jumps ruts & holes
Thanks!!
You set the spring for correct amount of rear wheel movement by sitting on it.
You set the rebound/compression for correct shock response to given terrain.
Be sure to set sag for around 100 MM and then check static sag. (sag of just the bikes weight) and it should be about 25-30 MM. If it is less than that you need a stiffer spring.
Kamofly, here is a link that will completely explain your answer it is a great guide to setting up your complete suspension. http://www.mx-tech.com/tuning_offroad.asp Check it out and stick to what it says and you will wind up with the best setup for YOU. Good Luck.
Thanks 4 the advise&website guys!
I'll use it 2 tune my Shock 4 next weekend, at the MX track.
I really need more stiffness on bigger jumps & landings.
Front forks are perfect!
