I just rebuilt my forks on my '97 Honda CR250.

Afterwards, I was unable to fully seat my rebound adjuster on one fork. It would just spin and never bottom out. Took it apart and both ends of the rebound adjuster rod are mangled and rounded. No longer 'D' shaped. But I think a small piece of the rod is broken off up inside the dampener rod.

Question: How do I get that piece out? What does the upper end of the D shaped rod engage with?

HELP!!

Likely have to take the valving stem off the end of the damper rod. Will take a bit of heat. Do not clamp the rod. Lock a couple of nuts on the end of the rod and put those in the vice.
Heat the stem up and put a wrench on to loosen it. Put steady pressure on it and it will somewhat slowly break loose.
