Does a reed block even do any thing? There in one on my YZ100. The guy i bought it frome had put it in.it is about a 1/4 in. tall block of alumnum. Does raising the reed like that do any thing? Could it be why my bike also acts like its not getting any fuel sometimes?

(sorry about the spelling:( )

Are you talking about a reed spacer? (Between the cylinder and the reed cage) If so, they are used to increase bottom end a little bit. I don't think that would normally cause fuel problems. Not sure!

yes, raising the reed block does do something. it increases the length of the intake tract and increases the internal volume of the crankcase. i'm not sure how, but this increase in volume is helpful in producing more power in the bottom end of the powerband. you should have posted this question in the mods & performance forum.....u'd get more and a better response.
