reeds ??

When i ride my '91 KDX 200, it seems like it wont rev in 1st gear like it does in the rest of them. it just breaks up and wont rev out right. i dont think its jetting cuz it revs fine in other gears just not 1st. i put new reeds in a few months ago (i have a RAD valve on)..would they have worn out already??

did you rejet the carb after you put the rad valve on?

1st gear isn't likely to have much load on it @ WOT..not if the bike is running at all.

Maybe by the time you hear what you're hearing, you should've shifted already.

Guess that depends what 'it just breaks up and wont rev out right' means.

Besides listing what your current jetset is, care to expand a bit on the symptom?
