Is there any harm in using non-resistor plugs? I went to the auto parts store and picked up some BR8ES plugs, but they are not the resistor style. What is the difference?

No harm

Resistor plugs are used in cars for radios. if they are not resistor's then it will mess up the radio. For any othe ruse..it doesnt matter

OK.... B"R"=Resistor.... and YES it can effect the CDI's in some bikes. I would say if it calls for it... use it. It's not worth the $$$ to replace the CDI.
Hope this helps!

It's not the resistor part that is making your plug tan.... it's the 8 part that is... You are running a hotter plug. (just wanted to clearify that) :)
