Is it necessary to have the rotor resurfaced for a dirtbike like you would do for a car? I spent $60 for the set of brake pads and I don't want to do a half @$$ job. Also can you resurface the rotors or do you just have to buy new ones?

There is a min thickness limit stamped on the rotor but I believe it's only there for when it gets worn to that point, not to surface them. For weight savings they use the min amout of steel where ever they can.

If the rotor doesn't have any deep grooves or isn't beyond the min thickness then just put the pads on and run it. Otherwise get new rotors.
