I have a free day Thursday, so Scotty and I will be riding somewhere. Muenster is closed, however, and I'm not interested in track riding right now, so we'll probably hit the Kiamichis. Anybody else up for a ride, maybe head up Wednesday night, camp out, and ride Thursday? Roger? Charlie? Gene? Grady? Bueller? Bueller?

Doesn't your son ever go to school? Or is he also blessed with a job that allows him to take off whenever he wants? (not sure exactly how old he is...)

YZGuy, you must be off school for Veterans' Day, too, aren't you? Let's go riding.

Are you kidding? They don't give you any holidays in college. The only day's we get are: Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the Friday after, and MLK Jr. day. The Friday before OU weekend and Wed. before Thanksgiving are sort of "unofficial" holidays that most prof's don't have class. The only time I get to ride is every other weekend when I take a break from school and go racin.

Hey, Joe College; no whining. Why when I was in college, we only got one day a year off, and that was just to use the bathroom. And I only got to ride once a year, on an old CZ with a half-inch of suspension travel and a seat made out of old two-by-fours with nails sticking out, and we weren't allowed to stand up. That's right, times were tough. But you kids; you think the world is your oyster. You don't know what tough is. Why in my day, motocross tracks were built right over nuclear waste sites covered with asbestos dust, and we just had to deal with it. That's why so many old motocrossers now have lung cancer or two heads, sometimes a little tail growing back there. Because we were tough, that's why. Anyway, sorry you can't go Thursday. Maybe I'll ride the TORO race Sunday.

Scott and I had a great day at Talimena. It had rained quite a bit Wednesday, and it was still drizzling as we arrived that evening and set up the tent. We got up about 8:30 Thursday to find a light mist still falling; and it continued all day long. That didn't stop us from having a great ride. We rode 34 miles into Muse, via the Indian Nations Trail and some other trails on a map we got from the park ranger. Couldn't have done it without the map and the odometer on my enduro computer. We were cold when we hit Muse, so we ate chili and cheeseburgers to warm up. We rode back to the state park via the highway, some dirt roads, and some trails. A hot shower in the campground felt great before we drove home. Bit of a long trip, but it was worth it.

JMD, I did not know you had a tail and 2 heads. Now I understand why you picked your profession. You fit right in.

I will look for you Sunday. I don't want to see your tail.

Randy, are you racing Sunday? Should be a fun course, from what I've seen of it. Don't know yet if I'll make it.

I want to but I am not 100% comfortable with my riding skills after being off a bike so long. Riding a bike is not instinctive any more (like I think it should be) and I have to think about what I am doing now (hitting the ground hurts more now). I need some more riding time with everyone and it will come back. I am getting better fairly quick (confidence is coming back).

I would definately start out in an old fart or C class.

My finances have also been working against me lately and Christmas is coming. The 1st race will cost a little and I really do not have the extra cash this weekend (2 cars went down on us this week). Before the winter season is over, I hope to run in at least 1 Toro race. Watching is bringing back the competive fire in me. Give me a little time and you could be chasing me (Ha Ha).

I can help you guys. If you need a fuel, goggle, water stop or anything, let me know and I can help. If you need a fuel stop at a certain time, tell me when.

JMD, I'm not sure if you were out there, I didn't see you. We met Mudd Slinger on Sunday afternoon. The track was a blast. There was like 6 miles of open fun stuff, then about 6.5 miles of semi-tight woods. An absolute blast...

No, I nearly forgot that I had to attend an Eagle award ceremony for a boy in my old Scout troop today, so I had to pass on the race. Boy, I hope they leave the arrows up for a while. I'll be out there this Saturday and would like to ride it. Eric, sounds like you won your class? If so, congratulations! You can put that big ole trophy up in your dorm room and impress the girls.

Yea, I got my first 1st. No trophy, just a medal, but it looks good next to my silver one from last race and the WORCS trophy from last race too. I'm pretty pumped, goin for that jacket now! Don't need to impress the girls, already got one, but it did impress her... which is always a plus. The track had really good flow, but I'm not sure you'd be able to follow it because the field that they had about 4 miles of grass track on is supposed to be plowed and seeded for wheat pretty soon. I guess if you were out there this week you might be able to follow it. Other than that, it was just leftover enduro trail in just a little different order. Sure was fun though...
