Sorry I missed you . . . I was in Canada snowboarding.
We might be at 7-mile next Saturday afternoon, not too sure about Sunday (bachelorette party Saturday night). I might not be capable of much after that, but who knows. I know 7-mile is boring but it's better than nothing, until the higher trails open up more.
May I suggest Liberty Lake ORV Park? It's low enough that snow won't be an issue and it's trails instead of wide open spaces with dunebuggies attacking you!!!
Actually I've been having fun at 7-mile--when the sand is wet like it is now, the traction is perfect, and there are mini-mx tracks scattered all over through the trees. My buddies and I usually hit one for a few laps, then move on to the next hillclimb, jump or track. They're MX riders all but it's still a lot of fun. Plus I always run into a ton of people I know out there.
7 Mile is located in Riverside State Park just northwest of Spokane.
Not sure what we will be doing this weekend - the boy is heading to Schweitzer for the weekend and the girl is not sure if she wants to ride yet.
Firecracker, let us know what time you & dirty~d plan on riding and where the Mexican dinner with shots will be! Uh, oh, who's bachelorette party is happening Saturday night? :scream:
At this point, depending on the temperture and perma-frost, I think me and my buddy, will be at Liberty lake on Sat. I'm in search of mud, and the melting snow should make for some nice conditions. If though, it is frozen solid, something else will be in order.
I have another friend that just got a newer CR 250, so I'm sure he will try and talk us to Moses Lake or Juniper.
The party is for my friend Summer. As if I'd ever be silly enough to get hitched. :p
Looks like D won't be making it after all, so a new friend and new convert to riding (or back to it, rather) and I will head out to 7-mile sometime in mid to late morning. She is borrowing Noelle's bike as she's a little vertically challenged.
We are going to Moscow for their Mardi Gras celebration on Saturday, and club hopping on Friday for the party. There will be some silliness I am sure.
Well, we went to Liberty, but it was a bit to slick with all the ice in the shade. So we went to 7 mile and burned it up for about 3 hours. Was pretty fun, we chased each other around.
There was an accident, don't know what happened, yet they had 3 park rangers, 3 paramedic units, and a sheriff. The Sheriff even handed out a couple tickets at the ramp.
All in all it was a fun, didn't see any Dirtrider.net fender stickers though.
We didn't make it out at all - doc perscribed serious anti-inflammatories and wrist splints for me for the next 9 days so I decided to try & stick to the program and see if it helps me. What a pain to type in wrist splints!
My poor old hound dog is about to give it up too so we spent Sunday keeping him company by the woodstove in the shop and trying to get him to eat & drink a bit. We will miss him. :whiner:
FC, went time were you there, I cruz'ed the pits looking for a 200 and a red Toyota? I parked right next to the unloading ramp, Bronze Dodge Extra Cab.
I saw one KTM 200 with Black plastics (I think) ,but didn't see any long hair under the helmet, but there was a gal on a green machine with said KTM.
Maybe that was you, I had my KTM, and my friends were on a YZ400 and CR250
That would have been my friend and I. I was in blue and yellow Fox gear and she was wearing purple pants and a black sweatshirt. I cut my hair off short so you wouldn't have seen it. Did you wave? I waved at or nodded to someone on another KTM. Didn't see stickers though.
<sigh> It's so nice to know I look androgynous without long hair now.
Oh yeah I don't park in the pits, I always park down the way a little bit in the trees, because my buddies always go there. I was trying to avoid the ranger.
I saw you then! I was stopped buy a jump, you and your friend stopped about 15 feet away. I was trying to decide if I should say anything, but the hair thing got me all confused!
I had on orange Fly pants, Black/White Fly Jersey, and a generic orange helmet. I don't have any stickers on the front either, the bike came with a set of fender and shroud stickers.
Ok, I remember that. How funny. You know later on at that same little track that punk on the all black KX TURNED AROUND and was going the wrong way. I yelled 4-letter words at him then rode over when he stopped and suggested he wait until other people were gone to go the opposite direction. The little moron flipped me some crap and rode off. I LOVE Seven Mile.
If I was a better rider, I would have knocked him down. Seriously. Someone tried to tell me he was a good kid but I thought he was a punk. A buddy asked if he raced but he said he just wants to do freestyle. Meaning he's just a stupid punk.
If you like tracks there are way better ones than that. There is a good one way in the back that's getting a little rutted up but it's not too bad.
Do you ever go out to Airway Heights? I plan on being there a lot now that it's open.
I think I've been on most the tracks there, but I suck at them. I think I would do better if it wasn't for the corners, or whoops!!! I need to get my front suspension fixed to be able to handle it on a track. It just plows around.
I have not been to Airway yet. My friend wants to go check it out. I'm somewhat airborne challanged, so the track hasn't sounded to appealing to me.
I'll have to go when no one is around;-) since I'll probably roll every double, single, triple, or whatever the got.
Hey, that's how I ride the track! At least until my son comes up and tries to make me twist the throttle - then I claim I'm tired and go rest at the truck!
Ha! I'm airborn challenged too, but I go and punish myself anyway. I like it out at the track. If you want it to yourself go on a Tuesday-Friday (they're not open on weekdays just yet I don't think). I used to practice on Thursdays after work, back last year when the days were long enough.
The track is fun in its own way. It sucks at first for most people but as you get more comfortable on it, you will have more fun. I roll almost everything--there's like 2 jumps I can do now but I'm eyeing a bunch more! I'm gonna clear the small triple this year I think!
Bbbom, you better clear that double this year. It's easy and you almost had it!
