He was probably the best man I will ever meet.

I'll post some shots of him riding my XR80 three years ago, in April of '08, I think. I still have his 1975 XS650. (He bought it from my wife, before we were married, when she moved up to a Seca 550, in 1981.) I'll also post some pics of him helping crew when I was chasing WERA Endurance Championships.

Driving him back to Camanche, myself, Monday, or Tuesday. Honored to be able to take him back home, myself!

Sorry for your loss. Losing parents sucks no matter how old they (or you) are.

Looking forward to seeing those pics.

There is a song I'm very fond of, by John Prine, titled "Grandpa Was a Carpenter."

My Grandpa was a machinist, my father formed people. I truly come from good stock. Btw, my Mom was a librarian. Organized, I might note.

Thank you all, for your kind words, and allowing me to indulge here.

Okie, I really wanted my Dad to meet your Dad. Sorry I didn't get it done. Now it's up to me. I'd hope to get your folks together with my Mom, sometime when she is back in Camanche.

My thoughts exactly, he had a productive life! We should all hope to end this thing with so much to write about our time here.

Godspeed.

I'm sorry to hear that, Ken. He certainly sounds like quite a person.

I didn't realize you were that close. We need to get together some time.

Ken:

As many here know, there are really no words that can be said that fill the void left from the loss of a love one.

Clearly your father filled his dash well.

All most of us want is to know we made a difference. Reading the obit, it is abundantly clear that your father made a difference.

Tony
