Am just reviving an old twinshock rm for my g/f and am wondering how to check the oil level in the crank case, I cannot see a level screw.

Hows about ignition timing for the older cdi models, anyone know how many degrees before tdc, how is it done.... timimg light with an independant 12v battery?

There should be a phillips head level screw in the vicinity of the kickstarter boss only an inch and a half lower.
OTW, just use the suggested volume that exists on the filler boss.
Timing will require a dial indicator for the spark plug hole.
The manual will give a specific range BTDC for a mark on the rotor and a mark on the stator to align.
Something like 1.8mm BTDC.
You will have to check a service manual.
