rm 250 problems.

my cousin came to me complaining his bike stopped and cant start it. its an rm 250 01. i cleaned the carby out as the jets were blocked. it fired up no worries after that but it bellows out heaps of white smoke and the motor is noisy, im thinking hes blown his top end, but it still has compression?? could it be the gearbox? any ideas? cheers.

Sounds like coolant is getting into the combustion chamber......Check the top end.

If you hear a thicking sound from the cylinder thats whorne piston rings :laugh:. you can sometimes see if the top end is whorne if you remove the exhaustpipe and look at the piston.

took the head off and the o rings are dead and coolants getting in. as far as the noisy motor goes ill put it bak together and she how she goes.
