I have a 2000 rm125 and it just wont idle.The idle screrw is turned all the way in and it wont idle.All the settings are stock.It seems like the idle screw has no effect.
Thats not true, 2 strokes can idle but they will foul plugs and eventully suck liquid gas if left to idle long. All the idle screw is is a throttle slide stop, turning it in raises the slide which raises the idle. 2 Strokes should idle for about 6 seconds and than die. Any longer and the bike will go on running into turns and become hard to slow down. If the bike won't idle for six seconds, cut the spring on the idle screw until it goes in far enough. If this doesn't work adjust the air screw.
If it doesnt idle than it dies when you are coasting and braking.All this "It's not supposed to idle crap is bull.Read the damn manual.Does it say anywhere in there its not supposed to idle?NO!It says it should idle at the lowest possible engine speed.

#2) If you knew how to use a clutch you wouldn't hold it in when you are coasting and braking.
calm down guys, mabye if your racing you want your bike to not idle, but me id rather not have to give it gas going into a corner for it to not stall, i had the same problem, nothing did anything, i took the spring off and urned it al the way in, barely idled, so i made a trip to home hardware, where i bought a longer screw, im sorry i forget the size, but just bring your idle screw with you and get 2 or 3 other lengths.
on my rmx you trun the screw out to let more fule in to let it idle higer and trun it in to let less fule in to let it idle lower. I have mine set so it will idle for about a minute before it dies.
