a few months ago I noticed some knocking at idle imediately following a piston change, kind of noticealbe but after some warm up it seemed to back off. Lately its been back, it was quieted somewhat by pulling in clutch so I pulled the cover and checked the basket bearing-bushing, and found a slight bit of slop, replaced the bushing and bearing and still have the knock. no noticeable movement from flywheel ...top end is only about 6hrs with new bearing, rod was good with up down and side side at last piston swap. Anyone else notice this with their rm? my friend has an 02 has a slight knock, but my 04 is very noticeable at idle. It goes away completely off idle and up. no vibration either. :bang: no difference in sound from pump gas to u2 either....

i believe my rm's do the same thing, not really bad but noticeable. I never had any issues so i just leave it be. How is your bike running? Any issues since the top end?

bike runs perfect, sounds fine above idle, maybe just nature of the beast, I thought about pv rattling so may check into that...

What the heck I would worry if my engine didn`t make any sounds.. .

As long as isn`t your crankshaft bearings, then I wouldn`t worry. Rod bearings tend to make a different sound then the crank bearings, rod is more rattling-sound, low end is knocking, especially when the engine is cold, at idle.
