RM250 Revs outta control

I have a 1994 rm250 and when I start it it revs way up and I have to kill the motor cause Im afraid its going to blow up. New to this bike and need to be pointed in the right dirrection and see what could cause this problem. Thanks for your help

Is the throttle hung? You might have a air leak!! Do a search on Air leak!!

Make sure the throttle cable is not sitting on top of the barrel nut on top of the carb, it should be seated down in there. Happens alot when people handle the bike and snag the cable jacket.

richen up your pilot jet. If that doesnt work you prob have an air leak somewhere, normally when the bike revs to the moon its because something is making it to lean

Air leak, or starved for fuel would be my first check.
