A helicopter can survive an engine failure, but you get one heck of a hard landing, the gyro can glide to a landing, hover, land, and even take off again, and land somewhere else, all while the rotor is in auto rotation and no power.

The Osprey relies on computers and hydraulics to transition from helicopter to aeroplane, pretty hairy stuff. I hope they get it sorted out. Methinks the Osprey needs another engine, a fixed pusher, or front engined puller. But, heck what do I know :eek:
