I myself had a fairly un-eventful day. Rode with five other club members and rode hard until each bail out point which I think were about 10-12 miles apart then waited for everyone to regroup. Only mishap was somewhere around mile 43 or so I got stopped dead in my tracks, the bike wouldn’t move. I lifted and move the bike around only to discover the front wheel was locked up. I had a nice chuck of wood wedged between the disc and the forks, this after I spent 5 minutes looking at the back end to see what was wrong. The ride it self was fun but was grueling after awhile. My 200 is perfect for the tight trail they used and it’s amazing how much of it they squeezed into such a small area. The woods were almost like the grass track with trees separating the trail instead of ribbon. I loved the last 10-12 mile section, after riding rocks and roots for 50 miles it was nice to have some faster rock free trail. (Ok almost rock free). I’ve got to agree, a lot of riders did bail early. I think some people believe a Turkey Run is going to be an easy ride which isn’t necessarily so. New England is full of rocks and there is always a chance you are going to get stuck riding them. It may have been a good idea to have some road-connecting trail to give some of the more inexperienced riders a break but there may not have been that option available to the club. I enjoyed it and I hope they have it again, I’ll be back as long as my aging old body allows me to. I know PapaKeith enjoyed himself or maybe that smile was leftover from all the food at lunch. We'll get Trail Boss back out there that is if he forgive WoodsRider ;)
