My buddy just picked up a 91 KDX 250. I noticed while looking at the bike that it had something called a roost boost attached to the area under the frame. It would appear to have something to do with the ignition, but that is just my thought. The bike is actually in pretty good shape but the previous owner knew very little of motor maintenance and the powervalves have apparently begun to stick. The bike starts easily and runs okay but it doesnt pull like I know a good 250 should. It seems like getting into the powerband is different every time you open it up.

Ive owned and worked on enough motocross 125's and 250's to know how to get and keep them running like a top. But I have no expereince with trail bikes and know nothing of Kawasaki's powervalve system. Can anyone shed some light on the subject?
And oh yeah, what the heck is a roost boost?
