Does anyone know if there is a compatible swap to replace the forks on a '90 Yamaha RT180?

I've heard some years of YZ125 can be used (clamps & all), if so, any ideas what years of YZ would work?

I'd save my money if it was me, the RT 180 is a playbike, and isn't really worth throwing more money into, as you'll never get it back. Save the money spent on upgrades, to put towards the purchase of a better bike that offers more performance instead.

It's a friends bike. I suggested he take the money to upgrade the forks, put it in a ziplock bag and duct tape it to the forks. Then the rear suspension, engine etc. When the bike is covered in duct tape, unwrap it and buy a new bike!

I used to have a RT180.

Fork upgrade -
Take some PVC pipe and add a little preload to the forks to stiffen them up.

That is the limit of the fork upgrade that should be done to that bike. Anything more is a waste of money, tell him to step up to a new bike!
