A buddy of mine from school has a 91' KX80 which he wants to sell. He said it has just been sitting around for the last couple years. I have never seen it but he said it will run now but could use new piston, rings, and clutch. He wants to sell it for $200. I think that is a great deal but I would check it out first of course. How much would it cost to rebuild the top end and a new clutch? I have seen 86-90 kx80s go for $1000 or more on ebay. How much do you think I could get for this kx80 next summer? Thanks for the responses.

Surely more than 200. Come for 200 and a top end you can even abuse it.

How old are you is this the right size for you? IF not this then what bike would you get. I ride a 91 125 and have a blast.

The trick is dont get on a newer one and you will not know what you are missing, if anything at all.

Sincerely,

Id go for it! $200 is cheap for an 80. Even an 11 y/o 80. If it runs, itll be just that much better of a deal. If it doesnt itll still be a good deal. Figure on $$75-100 to rebuild the top end. So if you pay 300 for it and then turn around and sell it next spring for 1000. Thats 700 in your pocket!
